W00t! That's impressive! I took a stab and am at 750. I suck.

Come to [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo!

That's impressive... very impressive :)

There's a faint smell of smoke coming from the keyboard...

Love that icon!

Brilliant wordcount!

[identity profile] altariel.livejournal.com 2006-11-04 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
Well, we'll see how the next few weeks pan out...

Hurrah! May you have the power of the words throughout nanowrimo and beyond!

[identity profile] altariel.livejournal.com 2006-11-04 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
God, I hope so! Thank you!

Nice going! And good luck over the weekend...

[identity profile] altariel.livejournal.com 2006-11-04 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
Amazingly, I actually have some time this weekend (the scary schedule has slowed up for a few days).

You're Teh Amazing! *admires*
I wrote some 30,000 words in October and early November - is that a lot or very little? Of course, I did it in a completely unorganized way, just because my muses went crazy...

[identity profile] altariel.livejournal.com 2006-11-04 07:17 am (UTC)(link)
30,000 words in 5-6 weeks is a terrific wordcount. It's fantastic when the muse provides like that.

(That teddy makes me smile every time!)

Heh. Bet you're lagging behind on your PicoWriMo story, though. ;)

[identity profile] altariel.livejournal.com 2006-11-04 07:01 am (UTC)(link)
In fact, I'm hoping to get a short done this month, which I should have finished by the end of October, only that wretched cold laid me up for the days I'd had planned for it. Mr A. is away for a few days soon, so I'll see whether I can zip ahead with it then.

[identity profile] the-wild-iris.livejournal.com 2006-11-04 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
I've managed to miss what you're writing (sorry!), but that's a brilliant word count. Especially if it's limericks.

[identity profile] altariel.livejournal.com 2006-11-04 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
Free-style limericks. No time to edit ;-D

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-11-04 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
10%! You'll coast home in a couple of weeks, and you've already done PicoWriMo!

I am so slack.

[identity profile] altariel.livejournal.com 2006-11-04 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
I'm on target to finish by the 30th, but Mr A. is away for a few days soon so I might slip ahead then. My days are very regimented at the moment with teaching, so I'm fitting writing in between that. I thought I'd be too busy, but because I'm so timetabled right now, it seems to be working out.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-11-04 07:05 am (UTC)(link)
What's the novel, another DS9 one?

[identity profile] altariel.livejournal.com 2006-11-04 07:09 am (UTC)(link)
It's an original novel, set in Cambridge. A kind of historical treasure hunt. Someone solves an old, half-forgotten mystery.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-11-04 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
It sounds fascinating. I like mysteries.

[identity profile] altariel.livejournal.com 2006-11-04 07:16 am (UTC)(link)
I'm probably a bit short on plot (and heavy on backstory - always my problem), but the plan is to do this as a first draft, leave it in a drawer until the spring, and then see whether there's scope for more story.
