Hyperdrive

For those reading this journal who like comedy and science fiction (and I think there may be one or two of you) Hyperdrive starts tonight on BBC2. It stars Nick Frost (you know, Simon Pegg's best mate in Spaced and Sean of the Dead) and the Actor Kevin Eldon. Let's hope it's funny.

Thanks for this! I'd seen it talked about in SFX, but hadn't seen it was starting. I also have hopes for its funniness.

There's a strong possibility it might be achingly awful, but there's an equally good chance it'll be a laugh.

Yeah, I was saying in ninebelow's journal, I missed the first season of Red Dwarf because I thought 'too good to be true, it's probably shit'. I'm not making the same mistake twice, I'll give it a fair chance.

What's with the British SF/TV renaissance?

It's what you were saying in your journal yesterday: People Like Us are running the show now.

Well the website's pretty funny. Did you watch "Life on Mars" in the end? Really enjoyed it. "My Name is Earl" on Fri was great too.

I did watch Life On Mars and thoroughly enjoyed it. Big cheers when they leapt over the desk. I caught the second half of My Name is Earl and thought it was great - I'll definitely watch next week.

And Happy New Year!

Did you catch the bit where they realise why Earl's friend wasn't interested in the prostitute, and start backing away towards the door?

Happy New Year to you too!

Yes, I saw that bit. Someone on IMDB wrote: "If the Coen brothers wrote and directed a TV sitcom, it could be very much like this show" which I quite like as a description.

Blimey, I may watch it then

Oh bugger.

*curses lack of TV aerial and thus inability to video stuff*
