The Goren memorial hour

The Hallmark Channel came to the end of this season of Criminal Intent, and we are bereft each night.

Taking a leaf from [livejournal.com profile] kathyh's book, we have instigated the 'Goren Memorial Hour', in which we try to make some headway in the big pile of unwatched DVDs by watching rotating episodes from different shows each weeknight. So: Babylon 5, Survivors, Thriller, U.F.O. and a random choice from the big piles of comedy DVDs (Big Train up first).

Is that the Gerry Anderson UFO or some other UFO?

Golly, I thought it was too obscure to be known...

I think it was very popular in the UK when it was first transmitted (as popular as Man from UNCLE), but that was slightly before my time, so I've never seen most of it.

We've just cancelled Sky & substituted a DVD rental service, only to find my [expletive deleted] DVD player has stopped playing DVDs.

Nasty people stopped showing the damn Remington Steele repeats...

Gah, just like with Criminal Intent. Still, we do watch an awful lot else (and being able to pause live television must be humanity's greatest invention!).

LOL. I'm glad you find the Memorial Hour concept useful. We've lapsed a bit but must get back to it as we've nearly finished Season 1 of B5. I think one of the reasons we slowed down a bit is because we can't decide whether to carry on with B5 or move on to Farscape. Decisions, decisions.

We rewatched Survivors a while ago. It's not the cheeriest viewing...

It would be very interesting to switch between seasons of B5 and Farscape and compare and contrast. But then the temptation to push on with the B5 story must be very strong... Decisions, decisions indeed.

*hugs* for the crappy BBC news and *hurrah!* for the near-free holiday.

Life is hard *g*.

Thanks. It's amazing how much the prospect of a nearly free holiday can cheer one up!
