More MB spammage

I'll stop this soon and go and do something productive. But this cross-fandom typing list made me laugh. And it is Friday after all. It groups together characters from various shows by type, and suggests what a likely meeting would be like. Some of the shows I don't know, and some of them type characters in completely unexpected ways. [livejournal.com profile] communicator, it types Firefly characters. Also types Garak as an ENTP. And Jayne as INFP...

Sample:

INFJ (Introverted iNtuitive Feeling Judging):
Jean-Luc Picard (TNG), Wesley Wyndam-Pryce (BtVS, AtS), Lex Luthor (SV), Inara (FF)
They'd probably just sit and read. It's either that or a long, detailed discussion of the nature of politics and man that would degenerate into trading bad-childhood stories.

Unexpected is right - there's no way Jayne is INFP. Still, nice to get a different perspective. I wonder if the person sees those characters very differently from me, or if he/she has a very different understanding of Myers-Briggs?

[identity profile] altariel.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
Or a very different perception of INFPs: I don't see it for Spike either (although I do for Bashir - the doctor from DS9).

I think INFP is a pacifist vegetarian type

I test as very INFP, and I'm neither veggie nor pacifist. I can easily see Spike as INFP. No way that Jayne is, though.

Actually, the more I think about Spike, the more I can see it.

Maybe *William* was INFP, but Spike isn't?

[identity profile] altariel.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 01:40 pm (UTC)(link)
That was what made me wonder about INFP. And whether or not type would carry over to their vampire selves.

It is funny, though. As an INTJ, I don't mind being compared with Odo, Rupert Giles, Aeryn Sun, or Shepherd Book. The description cracked me up: "Ignore each other. Drink a lot of coffee. Take the glasses off. Put the glasses on. Take the glasses off."

Jayne is a mystery, though.

My favourite description was for the ISTJs (Worf, D'Argo, Zoe from Firefly: "Vacuuming."

Love that icon.

[identity profile] eldritchhobbit.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
LOL! And thanks. :)

[identity profile] executrix.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Zoe from Firefly: vacuuming, only in the sense of that's what you'd end up in if you annoyed her enough to get kicked out of the airlock.

[identity profile] altariel.livejournal.com 2004-11-20 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
I can see her as treating it as one of those things one should be efficient about, like shooting and looking after your gun.

[identity profile] executrix.livejournal.com 2004-11-20 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
Whereas I think she'd have an Olympian ability to be far, far above dirt. Except, as you say, in her gun.

[identity profile] communicator.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 06:59 am (UTC)(link)
I think Jayne is ISTP. Han is surely ESTP, by the way?

[identity profile] eldritchhobbit.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
I'll buy that for Han. Still scared to go into Jayne's head. :) Is ISTP "man-ape thing"? Just kidding. *wink*

[identity profile] communicator.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 07:45 am (UTC)(link)
It's not his head I want to get inside.

[identity profile] eldritchhobbit.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 07:46 am (UTC)(link)
LOL! ;P

I think William the Bloody Awful Poet was introverted, Spike very much not. Whatever group there was with Hitting, I bet both Mal and Faith would be in it. And although I think Wes and Inara would like each other I don't think either one would ever get to hear the other's bad-childhood stories.

[identity profile] altariel.livejournal.com 2004-11-20 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Or, at least, the true bad-childhood stories. And each would expend a lot of energy trying to draw out the other.

Very much like that icon.

Data, Willow, Fred, Pilot and Kaylee. That's like totally my dream date.

"...possibly involving frogs."

[identity profile] altariel.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 09:02 am (UTC)(link)
Kermit?

[identity profile] gfk88.livejournal.com 2004-11-22 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Willow and Kaylee - omg, take me to that meeting now.

[identity profile] the-wild-iris.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm apparently an ISTP, which puts me with Simon (bless him!) - nicer than being a murderer as in the previous list.
