Is this what they mean by "The Rapture"?

I got some VERY GOOD ADVICE from some VERY WISE PEOPLE. And for once, I listened.

*snort!*

This is good, this is very very good.

(Now if I can do it...)

I think you might have. Hurrah! And we get the benefits of it too. Win-win!

"Words move, music moves
Only in time; that which is only living
Can only die. Words, after speech, reach
Into the silence."

Yup :)

Yeah, I'd got the same impression.

It's good to have an external appraising eye.

Yay!

[identity profile] altariel.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 02:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I hope you can. I don't know what happened. I just managed to relax a few weeks ago, and the words have come since.

Yeah, I've been meaning to say something. It seems like your LOTR muse is back, and how.

I *blushes* haven't actually read any of it. I've been busy with my own writing and getting the MEFAs off the ground and of course everything else in RL. But I have been saving the links and hope to get back to them. Mainly, I'm just happy you're writing!

[identity profile] altariel.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, thank you so much! And, gosh, no blushes about reading or otherwise. I know I'm so busy writing at the moment that I'm hardly reading anything!

[identity profile] altariel.livejournal.com 2011-05-21 02:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm certainly feeling a lot more chipper about things :-)

[identity profile] greylin.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 11:43 am (UTC)(link)
Stupendous. I'm very happy for both us - you get to write, and I get to read!

[identity profile] altariel.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
:-) It's a massive relief. Hope you enjoy the new stuff!

Hip hip hooray!

I shall have to read this at a quieter moment, probably back home, but good for you to wrestle that recalcitrant muse. (Um, this metaphor is getting both rather biblical and sort of mixed up.)

OT: I was just wanted to thank you again for taking the time to meet me in Cambridge. It was an absolute delight to get to know you in person - really.

After I had also spent two days in great company in London, I flipped open to read The Vorkosigan Companion, which I had bought at Forbidden Planet, to read an essay about Bujold fandom: Not only did it contain the very apt phrase that a meet-up of online fans is "a merry gathering of axe-murderers", but it also quoted Ekaterin's musings on Miles from ACC, that you can judge the quality of a person from the quality of the company they keep.

As much as I'd like to twist that statement into some flattering reflection on me, I can only say that it isn't really true in my case. I'm actually far too blessed with (and probably not quite deserving of) the all the lovely folks I've met online -- and some in RL, too.

Please excuse this loquaciuous outburst of mawkishness all over your comment section. What I forget to tell you on Monday: If you and Mr A. should ever come to my corner of Germany, I'd be most happy to reciprocate. &hearts:

It was a merry meeting! Thank you so much for seeing me while you were here in Cambridge, it was such a lovely morning, a wonderful start to a Monday that kept me smiling for the rest of the week. I hope the rest of your visit has been just as much fun :-)

*huge hugs*

I had a great time in London, met more wonderful people in Bristol and Sheffield, and enjoyed York quite a lot! So, yes, my trip has indeed been a lot of fun.

I also got around to reading The Way through the Wood on the train, and I really liked how you picked up on the children's fantasy / fairy-tale theme of season 5 and just ran with it in your novel. Also, bonus points for lots of Bechdel test passing and Laura's ending! \0/

Glad you had such a good time on the rest of your trip :-)

And so pleased you enjoyed Woods! Yes, I really wanted to give it that fairytale feel. And I spent a long time pondering Laura's fate, so I'm particularly glad that earns bonus points.
