That's right. I was absolutely blown away by My Friends the Miss Boyds, and felt a bit ambivalent about Muriel by comparison - I raved about The Miss Boyds on LJ at length, felt I ought to review Muriel and was really struggling to say much about it. (Am now irresistibly reminded of First Small Person's new class teacher reassuring us that we mustn't feel we must make the kids write reams in their reading diaries every time they read at home, in case reading joy starts becoming a writing chore!)
