I'm saying yes, because I had the sort of experience that Facebook's creators kvell about: I was reunited with a very old friend I'd lost track of long ago and now we are really good friends again. And all those old friends who joined up and hardly ever post? At least I now know where they are, and they know where I am, after I rode off into the NZ sunset. So, it works for me, YMMV.
