I guess we have fluency in the dramatic language for that.

That's a really interesting concept! It seems to me that the entire series has firmly placed itself on the post-9/11 front, on the post-cold war front...maybe we could call it a genuinely postmodern spy drama???

it's all about the local and particular as you say, about crises of conscience and competing identities rather than clear you vs us...I mean, even in the last one the issues had complicated beyond simple binaries...the enemy is (in/with) us seems to be the motto, right???

Plus, it seems to me much more self-conscious and self-reflexive. What are we doing and is it worth it seems to be a driving question.
