I'm particularly pleased the story worked if it's the first one you've read: it's a sequel, it follows on from a long, multi-authored series, and it's also a prequel to a long story I wrote about Faramir and Eowyn's marriage... so I had no idea if it would work for a reader who hasn't been following the other stories.
