This week I have some particular things to look forward to: on Thursday night I finally get to see Suzanne Vega in concert; one of my favourite singer-songwriters. Straight afterwards we hop onto a train to spend the night in London, so that we can get to Waterloo very early on Friday morning to catch the train to Paris.

The past few weeks I have been reading essays by and about Simone Weil. Are there any places in Paris connected to her that people are aware of that I could visit? (She is buried in Ashford; what a pity Redemption isn't there any more.)

Sounds fabulous! In London, I used to walk to work every morning through Waterloo station, and would always feel envious of people waiting for the Eurostar.

Can't help with Simone Weil, I'm afraid, but I hope you have a wonderful time :)

The train leaves at 6.30am on Friday, which might you feel a bit less envious... but then it does go to Paris!
